The Central Council for Research in Siddhe (CCRS) successfully hosted the Mega Siddha Expo, “Navaratna 2025,” at the B. M. Birla Planetarium campus in Chennai from February 1st to 9th, 2025. This event was part of the B Siddha Day celebrations. Dr. N.). Muthukumar, Director General of CCRS, led the event, which was inaugurated by Dr. V. Banumathy, in the presence of of esteemed guests including Dr. G. Thiagarajan Dr. Madhukumar and Mr. I. K. Lenin Tamizhkovan, Director of Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre. The event showcased nine pivotal aspects of Siddha medicine, including fundamental principles, herbs, raw drugs, tools for medicine preparation, external therapies, herbal cosmetics, Siddhar Varmam, and Siddha dietary practices. the Around Seventeen government and private Siddha medical colleges offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses participated in the exhibition, organizing special events to engage attendees. The exhibition attracted approximately 15,000 visitors, including students and the general public.A free Siddha medical camp was conducted, providing treatment to over 1,200 Individuals and conducting free blood tests for 800 participants based on medical recommendations. Around 9,000 people received herbal plants such as Nilavenbu, Tulsi, Vetiver, and Aadathodai at no cost. Traditional Siddha foods like Hibiscus infusion tea, Panchamutti Kanji, and Karisalai Mittal were offered freely to the public, promoting the importance of a healthy diet in Siddha medicine. CCRS-published books were a huge hit, with significant number of sales during the exhibition. The event was coordinated by Dr.R. Kanagarajan, Dr.S.Selvarajan and Dr.A. Rajendra KumarThe valedictory function was presided over by the Director General of CCRS Dr.N.J. Muthukumar, who distributed prizes to the Exhibitors, Best stall, Students, faculty members and lucky draw prize winners among the public.The Navaratna 2025 expo provided a valuable opportunity for the younger generation to explore various facets of ancient Siddha medicine and understand its role in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
